We are a small studio run by experienced VFX folk working on real projects for large VFX houses in London and beyond.
We thrive on actively developing the next generation of the UK VFX industry. Our dedicated studio in Doncaster, Yorkshire offers extra capacity for companies who need extra scale to complete projects.
We are looking for an energetic, organised team leader and people manager to help us manage a recent slew of production work and our growing team.
Central to our team you will work closely with the VFX Supervisor and Studio team to manage all aspects of our shows from planning / scheduling of resources, managing clients to tracking scope/budget changes and ensuring the project comes in on time and in budget.
Firebrand VFX is looking for an experienced roto and paint lead to work on upcoming high-end feature film and television projects and to help train and develop a team of prep artists.
The role is largely based in the studio in Doncaster, with the possibility to work from home one day a week.
You will be pivotal to a start-up VFX business located out of and serving VFX houses and productions in the UK and beyond.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Generate accurate articulate roto mattes using Nuke
- Match motion blur using procedural and calculated methods
- Use 2D trackers or planar tracking to track plates
- Generate 2D tracking data from 3D cameras
- Degrain and match grain for plates
- Use procedural cleanup and frame by frame painting techniques.
- Can QC's work to a high standard for other team members
- Estimate and bid shots and deliver high quality work under tight deadlines
- Advise, train, mentor and support junior staff
- Minimum three (3) years of experience in a VFX environment.
- Intermediate knowledge/experience with Nuke & Mocha (required)
- Ability to receive and implement feedback quickly and effectively; takes direction well
- Strong written and oral communication skills; and good time management skills
- Ability to work independently and oversee others
- Good at problem solving.
Salary:
£28,000.00-£32,000.00 per year
