Description

The post-holder will be expected to undertake a body of research in echocardiography screening of patients with suspected pulmonary hypertension (PH) and collaborating with engineers who will develop an artificial intelligence tool to try to improve the detection of PH by echocardiography.


There is likely to be the opportunity to submit work for conference presentation, publish a series of peer reviewed original papers in quality journals, as well as the possibility of training in medical statistics, and academic writing.


  • Ensure the environment and research process is responsive to the needs of participants recognising the importance of privacy, dignity and diversity.
  • Work within the relevant professional Code of Conduct and scope of professional practice and set high professional standards and promote safe and effective practice.
  • Provide support to research teams undertaking feasibility and capability and capacity assessments for related studies on the cardiology research portfolio
  • Ensure processes are in place to facilitate effective communication.
  • Maintain a safe environment, for patients, staff and visitors, ensuring that all control measures comply with the RUH current policies and procedures, and any statutory requirements, including all Health and Safety and Clinical Governance arrangements
