JOB OUTLINE
TITLE:
Middle Manager
JOB OVERVIEW:
The role is to support the Directors in providing professional leadership and management of Sandmartins Nursery Ltd through the day to day running of the nursery and deliver outstanding care and education for all the children.
AIMS:
Comply with all regulatory requirements.
Provide high standards of care and education.
Support all nursery staff in their roles.
Acquire and maintain positive working partnerships with staff, parent / carers / outside agencies. To take responsibility beginning / end of the day. Be an integral part of ensuring the budget is being used effectively.

MAIN DUTIES OF THE POST
- You will be expected to supervise and support new entrants whilst on probationary period and during employment at the setting.
- Day to day supervision of students and volunteers
- To undertake designated roles as directed.
- Work with external professional agencies (i.e. Ofsted, Local Authority, NHS,etc)
- Ensure records are properly maintained
- Work in partnership with all the senior management team.
- Contribute to the planning of the physical environment, to meet the needs of the children cared for.
- Assist with the day-to-day management of the nursery
- Assist in recruitment of staff
- Develop open and honest working relationships with staff
- Adhere to all policies and procedures and be a role model.
- Contribute to building positive relationships and interaction between children, parents, staff and outside agencies.
- Contribute in reviewing and updating the programme and activities available to the children.
- Contribute and participate in the evaluation process of standards of practice within the nursery.
- Play an active part in maintaining good health and safety practices in the working environment
- In consultation with the Director through team meetings, ensure areas within the nurseries are fully utilized
- Be fully aware of and implement accident reporting procedures, safeguarding processes, maintenance / fault procedure, Fire Policy and Health and Safety
- Provide leadership and support to all staff to enable them to establish and maintain professional positive working relationships with colleagues, parent / carers.
- Implement and deliver the EYFS
- Be fully aware of open / lock up and security of the building
- Proactively promote and represent the nursery
- Ensure any comments, compliments and complaints are dealt with in a timely manner
- Have the ability to remain calm under pressure.
- Have the ability to diversify and reflect on different ways team members work to achieve the same goal.
- Support the Directors in any administrative, financial tasks and decisions.
- Any other reasonable duties within the grade requested by the Management
- To role model and maintain outstanding practice at all times.

POST - Room Leader / Deputy

FACTOR ESSENTIAL DESIRABLE ASSESSMENT
MEANS
Qualifications Appropriate Level 3 Qualification as a minimum. A current First Aid Application Form
Certificate. Interview
A current Food Hygiene
Certificate.
A current Health and Safety
Certificate.
Experience Excellent working knowledge of the Early Years A good base of working with Application Form
Foundation Stage and Ofsted Guidance all under 5's Interview
At least five years' relevant experience in an Early Years
Setting.
Knowledge and proven practical experience of implementing good quality learning opportunities.
Training Must be willing to undertake job related training. Current first Aid certificate Application Form
Food Hygiene certificate. Interview
Safeguarding training
Health & Safety training
Special Have a working knowledge of the EYFS. A sound Application Form
Knowledge knowledge of child development and children's needs. Interview
