Applications are welcome for the above Permanent, full time (40 hours per week) post based at the Royal Hospital for Children and Young People.

NHS Lothian are seeking a Consultant Paediatric Surgeon to join a team of established NHS consultants and Academics providing emergency and elective Paediatric Surgery services to Lothian This permanent post has arisen in the Anesthetics team at the Royal Hospital for Children and Young People (RHCYP), Edinburgh, due to a retirement.

This post will be based at RHCYP, Edinburgh and involve weekday and weekend on-call, and scheduled job planned activities. The posts will be based in Edinburgh, one of UK's most desirable places to live. A full range of Paediatric Surgery are offered. The unit is well supported by specialist Radiology, Pathology, and Surgical Services. The unit also has close links to the University of Edinburgh. On-call duties (1 in 13 with prospective cover).

As a major teaching and research contributor, NHS Lothian would normally expect to allocate additional SPA time for activities to do with undergraduate education, educational supervision of trainee medical staff, research and other activities.
