SEN Teaching Assistant - Primary School

- Assist teachers in delivering engaging and interactive lessons, adapting materials and activities to meet the diverse needs of students with SEN.
- Provide 1:1 support to students with SEN, helping them to access the curriculum, develop key skills, and overcome barriers to learning.
- Support the social and emotional development of students with SEN, promoting positive behavior and fostering a respectful and inclusive classroom environment.
- Work closely with the SENCO (Special Educational Needs Coordinator) and other support staff to implement individualized learning plans and interventions for students with SEN.
- Collaborate effectively with teachers, parents, and external professionals to ensure that the individual needs of students with SEN are identified and met.
- Maintain accurate records of student progress and communicate regularly with teachers and parents regarding student achievements and areas for development.
Requirements:
- Previous experience working with children, particularly those with Special Educational Needs, preferably in an educational setting.
- A compassionate and patient approach, with a genuine passion for supporting the learning and development of children with SEN.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with students, colleagues, and parents.
- Flexibility and adaptability to work in a dynamic and fastpaced environment, responding effectively to the diverse needs of students with SEN.
- A commitment to upholding the values and ethos of the school and promoting a culture of respect, diversity, and inclusion.
