A 12-month vacancy has arisen for a part-time Band 2 Audiology Receptionist/Administrator to join our busy, friendly and patient-centric Audiology Service.


This post would be an ideal opportunity for somebody looking for a part-time post based at Bronglais Hospital in Aberystwyth.

Based in the Audiology reception office you will be required to help and supportour patients by answering telephone calls, booking patients in for their appointments and issuing hearing aid batteries.

You will also be responsible for booking adult Audiology appointments as well as undertaking a variety of general clerical duties.

You will be required to have excellent communication skills and have experience in Administration and Clerical duties.

You will need to be able to work in a calm, logical and methodical way but be able to multi-task whilst dealing with frequent interruptions.

Experience of working within a healthcare setting would be an advantage.

Welcoming visitors to the department and greeting them, in person or on the telephone and answering or referring enquiries.

Direct patients to the appropriate Audiologist.
Receive, sort and distribute daily mail/deliveries.
Update calendars and schedule meetings.
Arranging patient appointments through a bespoke Audiology booking system.
Open mail and deal with correspondence, including filing as appropriate.
Solve delegated problems logically and make decisions appropriate escalating issues when required.
Provide timely and accurate work.
Use of computer systems e.g. Patient Administration Systems or departmental databases.
Respond positively to change in the working environment and to deal effectively with work pressures when they arise.

The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; English and/or Welsh speakers are equally welcome to apply.

Highly specialised and tertiary services commissioned by the Welsh Health Specialised Services Committee, a joint committee representing seven health boards across Wales.
