Job Overview
We are looking for a new team member to to join our Campus Security Team working on a diverse campus with a role which is both varied and challenging.
Working as part of a team we provide a professional and approachable security service whilst at all times, maintaining a high level of customer service to students, staff and visitors to ensure the University campus is a safe environment for all campus users.

Main Duties
Operations
- 1. Patrol the University campus on foot or by car with a view to the prevention or detection of breaches of security or antisocial behaviour
- Conduct internal patrols of campus buildings
- Respond to emergency situations, to take initial action to safeguard life and property
- Respond to alarm activations including fire, intruder, personal attack and equipment alarms
- Undertake security control room duties including CCTV and alarm monitoring
- Transport valuable, sensitive and confidential items across campus
- Investigate allegations of crime taking necessary immediate action, including statement taking
- Assist with the safety and security of VIP guests and visitors to the University
- Undertake any reasonable task required to ensure the efficient and professional functioning of the security department and the wider FM team
- Work with the University Emergency Response Team in providing first aid
- Carry out regular inspections of equipment across the campus e.g. external lighting
- Carry out locking and unlocking of campus buildings
- Ensure the free flow of traffic around campus in partnership with the Transport Manager
- Assist visitors to the campus with enquiries and directions
- Act as a first point of contact for students seeking assistance
- Offer support to other University departments e.g. Housing, Student Discipline, Residential Life Team
- Occasionally work at other sites where University functions are taking place e.g. Graduation
Training
- Fully and satisfactorily complete all required competency training.
- To undertake additional training to ensure continuous selfdevelopment as directed by the Security Account Manager.
- Use technology to achieve key work objectives and develop job knowledge and expertise through continual professional development.
- You are required to ensure you renew your licence 16 weeks before expiry.
- Look out for, and to immediately report, any Health & Safety hazards, or potential hazards, on site.
- Stay alert to any threats or changes within the work environment in order to take the appropriate action to reduce the chance of disruption, loss or damage.
- Use common sense and initiative by immediately involving others if a situation appears to become threatening.
- To maintain professional conduct in the face of difficult situations and challenging customers.
- Complete an accurate, detailed notebook entry as soon as possible after any incident, which can then be used as part of the Incident Report process.
- Keep to schedules and demonstrate commitment to SEF and the Client.
- To ensure check calls are being carried out at the allocated time slot as stipulated in the Assignment Instructions (AI's).
- To call emergency services and Communication Centre to report all incidents.
What we are looking for
- Experience in Student Accomodation or hospitals
- Approachable and proactive
- Previous Security Experience
- SIA License
- CCTV licence
