Description

A top tier brand name Private Equity fund is urgently looking to appoint an experienced Fund Controller to a maternity cover role starting February/March (12 to 15 months).

This is a diverse, inclusive and flexible organisation with a strong track recordof success, with the possibility that this role could convert to a permanent hire given their rate of expansion.


Working as part of a fund finance team of c20, this role will take ownership for a number of PE funds, SPVs and co-investment vehicles as well as management of several junior accountants in an outsourced operating environment.


Responsibilities:


  • Oversight and control of daily management of a number of private equity funds
  • Leadership and management of a small team of accountants (3)
  • Oversight and control of investment transaction financing (purchase and realisation)
  • Review of complex carried interest and management fee calculations in accordance with fund documentation
  • Review of quarterly accounts, capital statements and group reporting
  • Monitoring and reporting of covenants for fund level loan and servicing of ongoing information requirements
  • Review of audited annual financial statements
  • Liaise with auditors, lawyers and tax advisors and other teams within the group (US and Jersey Finance, Deal teams, Group Treasury, Group Reporting, etc)
  • Investment transaction support as required
  • Coordination of the provision of information for tax reporting purposes
  • Improvement of the financial reporting process
  • Ad hoc projects (eg system implementation and improvement)

Your background:

  • Fully qualified accountant (essential) with a background inhouse at a private equity fund
  • Confident and proven team leader / manager
  • Hands on operational experiences in fund accounting
  • Ability to multi task and to work consistently and accurately under pressure
  • Strong communication skills; adept at building up relationships across the business
  • Ability to fit into a collegiate, entrepreneurial, investment group and to add clear value at a senior level, whilst also happily adopting a handson approach
Salary on offer is £100-120k plus benefits and bonus / start date of February to March 2023.
