Exciting opportunities have arisen to be part of the Public Health Dietetic Team within Cardiff and Vale UHB as a Band 4 Dietetic Assistant Practitioner targeting a range of population groups.

There are several positions and we are looking for passionate individuals to work in the following areas:

Early Years

School age

Adults


The Public Health dietetic team work with partners to build the capacity of communities, working through our Nutrition Skills for Life programme to support healthy lifestyles and prevent malnutrition.

Our aim is to equip community-based staff with the nutrition knowledge and skills to incorporate nutrition messages into their work, employ more local people as community food workers and strengthen community food and nutrition input into areas of health inequality.

The post holders will have an interest in food and nutrition and experience of working in the community or with the specific population groups mentioned.

You will be an excellent communicator and understand some of the challenges our population might experience.


Under the supervision of a senior Dietitian you will be delivering nutrition interventions in the community across Cardiff and the Vale of Glamorgan.

These interventions would include delivering practical cooking skills, nutrition and healthy eating messages to groups and to families in their own home as part of the Early Years post.


The post holders will be working predominantly in areas of high deprivation with a population with diverse and complex health and social needs.

The successful applicant will require daily access to a car, due to this being a community-based role.

They will be required to go to different venues across Cardiff and the Vale of Glamorgan, transporting cooking/ course equipment and accessing a storage unit.

The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.
