My client operates highways contracts, on behalf of local authorities throughout the UK. Renowned for consistently delivering cost-effective performance with sustainable and innovative solutions.

As well as delivering exceptional service, they aim to improvethe quality of life for the public as well as road-user experiences within the communities' people live and work across the UK.

The company is currently looking for a Site Manager with experience working in the highways sector.

As a site manager you will be responsible for looking after the team's on site, as well as liaising with the clients.

You could also be monitoring costs andbudget, and ordering materials for the project.

My client has recently won projects across areas 12 and 13 set to start in the new year which requires an experienced Site Manager to ensure the smooth delivery of projects.


The job role of a site manager involves the following duties:

  • Liaising with clients and reporting on progress to staff and the public
  • Supervising construction workers and hiring subcontractors
  • Buying materials for each phase of the project
  • Monitoring build costs and project progress
  • Conducting quality and safety inspections
  • Checking and preparing site reports, designs, and drawings
  • Maintaining quality control checks
  • Motivating the workforce
  • Day to day problem solving and dealing with any issues that arise
  • Using specialist project management computer programmes
  • Working onsite in all weathers, at client's businesses or in a site office.

What you will need:


  • Civil engineering project experience.
  • Experience Site Manager.
  • Highways experience.
A levels, or equivalent (undergraduate degree).

  • CSCS
  • SSSTS/SMSTS
