2fawcett are currently seeking a
Warehouse Assistant on a permanent basis, in Sparkhill, Birmingham.
As a Warehouse Assistant, you will be responsible for assisting with various tasks within the warehouse, including receiving and storing incoming shipments, preparing orders for shipment, organising inventory, and maintaining a clean and organised warehouse environment.
Responsibilities of the Warehouse Assistant
- Receive and inspect incoming shipments, ensuring accuracy and quality of products.
- Properly label and store incoming inventory in designated locations within the warehouse.
- Prepare outgoing orders by accurately picking, packing, and labelling items according to customer specifications.
- Utilise inventory management systems to track and update inventory levels.
- Conduct regular inventory counts and assist with reconciling any discrepancies.
- Maintain a clean and organised warehouse, including sweeping, mopping, and removing debris.
- Operate warehouse equipment, such as forklifts and pallet jacks, following proper safety guidelines.
- Assist with loading and unloading shipments as needed.
- Collaborate with team members and communicate effectively to ensure smooth workflow and timely completion of tasks.
- Adhere to all safety protocols and guidelines to maintain a safe working environment.
- Identify areas for process improvement and provide suggestions to optimise warehouse operations.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Warehouse Supervisor or Manager.
Requirements of the Warehouse Assistant
- Prior experience working in a warehouse or similar environment is preferred.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain accuracy in inventory management.
- Basic computer skills and familiarity with inventory management software.
- Ability to lift heavy objects and operate warehouse equipment safely.
- Excellent organisational and time management skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Ability to work independently as well as in a team.
- Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends if required.
- Commitment to maintaining a safe and clean working environment.
Salary:
£23,000
