Hello my name is Liz, I am the Senior Sister on CDCU.

Are you looking for a new challenge in a nurse led environment within Cardiology?

Full and Part time hours available.

You will have proven skills with venepuncture and cannulation and a desire to learn.


You will be assisting in the care of patients admitted for investigations, procedures and/or treatment of a wide variety of Cardiology conditions.

You will also be able to work across the Specialty and support outpatient clinics when required.


Working Monday to Friday in a small friendly and supportive team will enable you to develop a specific group of skills and knowledge within Cardiology and deliver holistic patient care in the day case setting.

Admit, recover and discharge patients attending for a wide range of Cardiology elective procedures.

Meeting and greeting patients to the department.

Providing appropriate nutrition and fluids

Assisting patients with mobility where appropriate

Working under the supervision of the trained nurses.

Taking vital signs and recording NEWS scores

Recording 12 lead ECGs

Establishing Cardiac Monitoring

Completing documentation in the specific nursing care pathway

Recovering patients post sedation and/or General Anesthesia.

Using Trust IT systems.

Preparing medical notes in a timely manner

Assisting in audit processes and stores management.

Being responsible for preparing the TOE probes prior to elective lists.

Attending ward meetings and be involved in the accreditation process and Improving Together.
