This position is based in our Head Office in Rednal B45 9PZ

The Role Main Purpose of Job**To ensure all Payroll input has been actioned and completed effectively within the agreed timescales and deadlines.


In conjunction with the Payroll Manager to complete all Payroll processing, including all reporting, 3rdparty payments and pay overs which need to be up to date and paid over by the agreed deadlines.

Through demonstrating due diligence in data input the Payroll Administrator is ensuring that SSP become the food travel experts.

In conjunction with the Payroll Manager to manage the daily performance of the team


Main Duties

The day to day processing and advising of:

  • Maternity
  • Paternity
  • Company paid and Statutory sick pay
  • Court orders and Attachment of Earnings inc Student loans
  • Starter Checklist


  • P4

  • Bonus payments
  • New starter tax and NI details
  • Higher Grade duty payments
  • Termination holiday pay
  • Loans
  • Union and Voluntary deductions
  • Car Allowance payments
  • Pension
  • Taxi deductions
  • TT payments
  • Inputting of Salaried timesheets as provided by the business to report the sickness, absence and holidays directly into SAP.
  • The distribution of leavers P45's.
  • Input advances into SAP prior to the Supplementary Bacs run
  • Complete statement of earnings
  • Calculate any queries with potential pay anomalies
  • Check bank statements for any monies returned
  • Liaise with Central HR and HR Advisory teams on a daily basis
  • Payroll account reconciliations
  • Assist the Assistant Payroll Manager with the induction of new team members
  • In conjunction with the Payroll Manager and Central HR Data Administration Team manager, be responsible for the processing of the monthly and 4 weekly payrolls
  • Prepare and processing the Court Order payments
  • Prepare and processing the 3rd party payments, including union/voluntary deductions

Skills & Knowledge Essential**- The ability to work well as part of a team

  • Knowledge of PAYE,NI,SSP,SMP,SPP
  • High level of accuracy and attention to detail
  • Excel skills an essential.
  • Be able to meet strict deadlines
  • Knowledge of Statutory Guidelines and procedures

Desirable:


  • Previous experience of a payroll environment
  • Understanding of Real Time Information and Pension Auto Enrolment.
