Our Network Control team have an opportunity for you to join as our new
Network Response Technical Expert / Compliance Officer.


In this role you will be responsible for you will be there to offer technical support to the team as well as owning, developing and delivering training of processes.

When not responding to events, the NRT ensure equipment, vehicles and our workplace is in a constant state of operational readiness.

Your role will play a huge part in ensuring the team is consistent with this approach by owning and carrying out audits and reporting findings to improve performance.


As well as supporting the NRT during incidents, this role will be the direct link to the Operational Control Centre and own all activities relating to supply interruptions for Sensitive Non-Household customers, bottled water, bowsers/static tanks and tankering response when the incident room is active.


Some of your other key accountabilities will include:

Key Accountabilities:


  • Mentor, coordinate and deliver training and awareness to staff across the Network Response Team (NRT) to improve performance when responding to an event
  • Ownership of postIncident reviews to drive continuous improvement in how the Network Response Team manages performance and own and deliver reports relating to this performance
  • Responsible for the Network Response Teams standby rotas across the company and subsequent training and review sessions for new and existing members (bottled water, NHH, tankering and bowsers)
  • Work alongside Commercial to ensure that our Network Response contracts are adequate, cost effective and performing against their obligations
  • Continuous improvement of the Severn Trents Network Response, including assessment of any technological innovations and undertaking benchmarking exercises to ascertain best practice within the UK Water Industry
  • Liaise with Local Resilience Forums, Water UK, DEFRA, Fire Services and the Civil Contingencies Secretariat on Network Response
  • Responsible for auditing of the Network Response Team's equipment, processes, vehicles and workplace, build reports and feedback to NRT leadership to improve performance
  • Responsible for ongoing review and maintenance of multiple major works plans in relation to supply interruptions or water quality incidents
  • Reporting on the numbers of Non-Household customers switching retailer and updating plans with this new information when required
  • Be able to effectively assess the location of asset install work to support Network Response activity, by working with internal stakeholders such as; 'asset optimisation'
  • During incidents, organise deployment of required logistics and equipment to sites across the whole STW estate. Coordinate and act as technical support on site if required and for the incident room, particularly for larger and more complex events.
  • Constantly looking for improvements in the way that we operate by driving out waste and inefficiency through continuous improvement (using the safer better faster toolkit and comm cells)
  • Monitoring H&S standards, processes, communications, and training ensuring safe systems of work are in place for all activities
  • Responsible for the ODI performance reporting and document and report back to NRT leadership team weekly
  • There will be a requirement for this role to be part of a standby rota and the successful applicants will be expected to typically work to an 8am4pm window but be capable of working within an extended working window of 7am7pm

WHAT YOU'LL BRING TO THE ROLE


To be successful in this role, it's expected that you'll have experience of working to targets in a pressured environment along with organising and prioritising your own workload.

If you have experience in writing or contributing to business cases this would also be beneficial.

This job role requires you to have a full and valid class B driving license
