An interim Group Finance Transformation Consultant is required for a 6-9 month outside IR35 assignment working for a global PE-backed media business.

The group has 400 global employees and is about to embark on a group wide transformation that will drivea centralisation project to build value across the organisation.


Primary Function:


As the Interim Group Finance Transformation Consultant, you will drive a transformation project across the business that shifts finance from a transactional model to a value add centralised function.

The business is decentralised, with finance operating across four sites in UK & Ireland.

The overall focus of the interim assignment will be to manage a financial restructuring project that will significantly improve reporting and governance by supportingcritical decisions to support the company's three-pillar strategy.


You will be responsible for driving the finance transformation across management accounts, group accounting, treasury & cash, accounts receivable, accounts payable and Payroll.


Selected key deliverables:


  • Drive a restructure of group finance, transitioning all financial processes to the head office and consolidating under a single documented process and team.
  • Improve all aspects of the management accounting process so they are prepared by working day 10 with an agreed set of KPIs and a meaningful board pack.
  • The group accounting policies are documented with financial controls implemented and understood by the finance team and Managing Directors across the business.
  • Build a 13week cashflow process that is transparent to the business so that the Group Treasurer can be confident of the business's current working capital position.
  • Develop the annual budgeting process, building processes that enable the FY23 forecasts to be within 5% of the actuals.

Knowledge & Skills base:


  • Qualified accountant
  • Significant experience in finance, with a strong transformation background
  • Proven track record restructuring finance and developing shared service functions
  • Experience in overseeing finance and project delivery teams
  • Ability to handle high levels of pressure and critical decision making
  • Cultural fit with business & excellent values
