    Description
    Senior CAR Underwriter UKI

    We are currently recruiting a Senior Underwriter to achieve underwriting income and profit goals in the specialist area of Contractors all Risks business in accordance with the set business plan and underwriting guidelines and appetite.

    To ensure underwriting integrity through appropriate deployment of capacity, whilst being compliant with guidelines and controls, consistency of approach towards risk selection, pricing, and use of capacity whilst recognising market conditions within delegated underwriting authority.

    Key Responsibilities:

    1. Underwrite new business or renewals according to defined underwriting guidelines, specified budget and local business plan.
    2. Represent and promote Chubb corporately to brokers, internal and external clients domestically and overseas.
    3. Meet company standards in respect of policy documentation, timeframe for quoting new and renewal business and compliance issues.
    4. Manage junior colleagues by using the Chubb PMP and peer review process as well as providing mentoring, training and coaching where appropriate.
    5. Represent and promote Chubb and maintain a permanent contact with internal colleagues and clients as well as major domestic and overseas clients.

    Requirements:

    • Considerable London Market experience and knowledge of UK and International Contractor's all Risks insurances and exposures in the given classes currently written by Chubb Technical Lines.
    • Extensive experience and understanding of this specialist product line, the insurance market and our competitors.
    • Experienced in construction practices and methods and client experience and knowledge, policy exposures and suitable policy requirements.
    • Experienced in leadership, training, mentoring and people development.
