Horton Housing is a not-for-profit Housing Association that manages a wide range of different housing, training and support services across Bradford, Calderdale, Kirklees and North Yorkshire. We offer support to a variety of people, including those who are homeless or at risk, young people and refugees. We offer accommodation, skills and language support, and use a strength based approach to help the people we support achieve their goals in a manner which works for them.
We are currently recruiting for a Night Project Worker to join the Bradford Homeless Partnership. This role is 30 hours per week, worked 3 nights on, 4 nights off.


The role


As a Night Project Worker you will undertake light maintenance duties through night shifts to ensure the scheme is maintained to a high standard.

You will also act as a support figure to those we support through the night, engaging positively and protecting their welfare.

You will keep track of who is onsite, and liaise with colleagues during handovers to ensure accurate flow of information.

You will support with any challenges relating to mental health, drug or alcohol issues, and offending behaviour which the people we support may struggle with - providing a safe and secure environment.


What we are looking for

  • Experience of working with people who have a range of needs, such as drug or alcohol challenges, rough sleeping, mental health challenges and a history of offending.
  • Awareness of issues relating to people who are or have experience periods of homeless, poor mental ill health, drug and/or alcohol issues
  • Ability to carry out a range of domestic tasks such as cleaning, changing beds, etc.
  • Ability to work flexible hours on a rota basis to meet the demands of the service. This includes shift work at night, evenings, weekends and bank holidays
  • You are approachable, adaptable and have the ability to remain calm and work effectively under pressure.
  • Driving license and own transport

In return, this role is offering a salary of £10.90 per hour based on a 30 hour week.
