The role:
Commercial Account Handler (hybrid working). Permanent position.

Working Schedule:
Monday to Friday, 9am - 5pm.

Client system:
Acturis (use of the Acturis system is preferred, but no essential).


This is an exciting opportunity to join an established, family run business based in Meriden handling a book of commercial clients.

The position is ideal for someone with a commercial insurance background to work within our existing business team, handling renewals.


Some key objectives and responsibilities include:

  • Ensuring accuracy, efficiency and professionalism when dealing with both client and insurer and conducting related administration work: New business, Renewals, Mid Term Adjustments, Queries, Premium financing arrangements
  • Ensuring all business activity fully complies with FCA regulation and company procedures
  • Handling any complaints in accordance with regulation
  • Achieve and maintain a high level of customer service and promote exceptional customer care standards at all times
  • Develop and maintain a professional working relationship with all clients and provide expert product advice and guidance
  • Actively secure renewal business by rebroking existing business to ensure the client is presented with the most suitable and costeffective cover
  • Identify and deliver or where appropriate forward appropriate crossselling opportunities
  • Conduct learning, training and assessment exercises

Skills required:


  • Previous experience working in a Commercial insurance environment is essential
  • Insurance qualifications are not required, but if you have none, a desire to work towards at least attaining the Cert CII
  • Excellent telephone manner and good communication skills
  • A desire to learn and develop
  • Experience using Acturis is preferred, but not essential
  • Organised and the ability to multitask
  • A good understanding of the compliance requirements of the role
  • Excellent customer service skills
