The Nest offers residential breaks for children in Kent from the age of 12 to 18 years old, who have learning disabilities and/or Autism, and will have some additional support needs.

These may include health related needs, mental health, behaviours of concern, and help with everyday tasks.

We always support children to have fun with their friends and peers, to learn skills, make choices, and to be supported in a safe and nurturing environment, so that they, and their families, can have a break.


We are looking for someone with excellent communication skills, be able to work as part of a busy team providing a high standard of care for the children and young people that we support, work with own initiative as well as with guidance.

Working at a fast pace, always ensuring the child/ young person's needs are kept paramount.

To succeed in this role, we are looking for someone who:

  • can follow care plans whilst keeping them updated
- is willing to work shift work as part of a rota
- is able to create factual reports
- is willing to undertake training and put theory to practice
- has a proactive approach to own learning
- can communicate in an open honest manner
- can organise and deliver new opportunities of recreational and social experiences for children and young people
- has awareness of the Children's Homes (England) Regulations 201- holds or is willing to complete the Diploma level 3/4 in Children and Young People
- has awareness of the Mental Capacity Act 2005
