Description

We are seeking an Operations Officer to provide temporary cover within our Planning Team. You will be working as part of a small friendly team ensuring the safety and efficiency of navigation.

You will enjoy working with technology, analysing information, liaising with stakeholders, prioritising tasks and making effective decisions with mínimal supervision in a safety critical environment.

You will also be the focal point of contact for Trinity House and other General Lighthouse Authorities out of office hours to all types of stakeholder.

For this temporary role, it is essential you have a minimum of 1 year experience working in a Control Room environment, good understanding of Trinity House Operations or similar operations environment, able to work up to a 12-hour shift cycle, and the ability to commute to Harwich, Essex, within 1 hour notice.

You will also have good IT skills as well as being a good organiser and planner with a high attention to detail.

Trinity House operates a 24/7 monitoring centre overseeing the performance of lighthouses, buoys and other aids to navigation systems throughout England, Wales, Channel Islands, Scotland and Ireland.

The monitoring team also coordinates the emergency response to safety of navigation incidents as well as assisting in the planning of diverse ship and aviation operations.
