Job Description of a Purchasing Controller
- Purchase goods, materials and services to ensure that the company operational needs are met, taking into account price, quality and delivery ensuring continuity of supply.
- Develop and improve supplier relationships and performance.
- Lead cost reduction activity across the supply base.
- Lead new model introduction for all bought in items.
Skills & experience of a Purchasing Controller
- CIPS qualification (desirable)
- Strong negotiation skills.
- Contract management and supplier experience.
- Computer literate, with advanced Excel skills a must.
- Strong technical knowledge, understanding of automotive processes, components and supply chain management.
