Stepping Hill Hospital Senior Clinical Fellow Emergency Medicine We are looking to appoint enthusiastic doctors to join our team of dynamic doctors and nurses.

We are a progressive department developing new and innovative ways of working.

We are a Trauma unit for adults and children, and a hyper acute stroke centre. We are one of the four specialist hospitals in Greater Manchester for acute surgery.

We have our own paperless system based on IPads, robust ENP and ANP service and co-located Medical Assessment Unit with close links with Acute Medical Team.

The post holder is expected to operate at registrar level providing senior reviews to patients in the Emergency Department.

This post includes late shifts and weekends on a rota and is very well supported by trainee doctors and emergency physicians.

The post-holder is expected to contribute to audits with presentation in the quarterly audit meetings, weekly Emergency Department meetings, and undertake appropriate administrative duties.

The post holder will be encouraged to work towards progressing their career via the CESR route.

We have a proven track record of facilitating Doctors getting on the specialist register via CESR We will facilitate this by:

Dedicated consultant mentor, with time to attend relevant teaching sessions Rotate through various specialties as a part of this post depending on learning needs identified - specifically two 3 month rotations.

You will also have protected CPD time every week. The department is rapidly expanding with plans that involve rapid access, and brand new Resuscitation development.

Stepping Hill has recently been awarded Specialist Hospital Status in Manchester which will lead to increased surgical admission as emergencies and expansion of all related services including acute presentation and management.

This post is offered on a full-time basis and offers support in achieving specialist accreditation requirements.

If successful this vacancy will require an enhanced DBS check at a cost of £41.90. This cost will be deducted from your first Trust salary


In addition to this it will be a condition of your employment that you will join the DBS update service and pay the annual subscription fee of £13.
