Description

The Legal Officer holds responsibility for supporting the Director of Legal and Compliance on a varied workload relating to group functions.

You'll be educated to degree level, LPC or equivalent qualification and will support the Legal function with a variety of tasks such as drafting and amending basic legal agreements, maintaining legal administration, analysis and research and ensuring that all business terms and conditions are kept up to date and communicated to the relevant third parties.

What that means day to day

Draft, amend and proofread basic legal agreements, NDAs, letters and contracts
Organise and maintain documents, files and records
Engage with external counsel where appropriate
Provide advice on legal issues and proposed changes to policy and procedures, meeting with internal stakeholders where required to discuss contract/dispute details
Assist with commercial queries, providing practical advice to the business
Report any potential legal risk issues
Organise diaries, schedule meetings and respond to telephone queries to the Legal Department
Maintain, and where instructed, update precedent documents and templates
