Head of Software Development, £90,000, Ferndown

Role purpose


As
Head of Software Development, you will operate as the
most senior technical leader in the business, as a key part of the Senior Leadership Team, creating, developing and
executing effective strategies, and
delivering infrastructure solutions in line with company growth plans.

You will head up the technical function as the business transitions to the cloud.


AsHead of Software Development, you'll:


  • Lead and manage the various software development teams, consistently producing high quality results
  • Ensure technology objectives are met, on time and within budget
  • Execute and improve effective solution delivery processes
  • Maintain a customer focussed outlook in all software solution deliveries
  • Work with senior stakeholders to build technology roadmap of the business

AsHead of Software Development, you'll have:

  • Working knowledge of software engineering principles with practical experience of cloud platforms
  • Experience working with complex and technical projects
  • Ability to design scalable and maintainable solutions, integrating security, performance and quality
  • A broad understand of technology, including Java, security protocols, different databases, and cloud architectures
