Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled Maintenance Person to join our team. The Maintenance Person will be responsible for ensuring the proper functioning and maintenance of our facilities and equipment.

This is a vital role in our organization, as the Maintenance Person plays a key role in maintaining a safe and efficient work environment.


Duties:


  • Perform routine maintenance tasks, such as repairing equipment and weekly safety checks.
  • Conduct inspections to identify and resolve issues in a timely manner
  • Respond to maintenance requests from various departments
  • Supervise and coordinate contractors or outside vendors for specialized repairs, inspections or projects
  • Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities and repairs
  • Follow safety protocols and ensure compliance with all relevant regulations
  • Procurement of maintenance equipment and materials required to complete on going maintenance and other projects
  • Focus on ongoing monitoring of all water services ensuring they are free from legionella, tested annually (by a certified technician) and effective and fit for use (e.g. taps, baths, showers, hot and cold water). Ensuring there is zero water wastage, water meters are checked and verified against bills to monitor water charges
  • Management of grounds maintenance, focusing on improving the external appearance of the site. Creating an ongoing maintenance and improvement plan covering gutters, drains, windows, doors, paths, drives, car parks, gardens, boundary walls, fences and seasonal issues such as grass maintenance, snow and leaf clearance.
  • Complete maintenance and re decorating action plans to ensure all sites are fit for purpose and aesthetically pleasing; reviewing sites monthly to maintain rolling plans of work for redecorating, joinery, hard fittings, lighting, flooring and ensure that the team meet timelines set.
  • Supporting the home management team with the home's ongoing cleaning program, ensuring high standards of cleanliness are met at all times.
  • Implement and enforce the company facilities training program.
  • Ensuring that the organisation is meeting all health & safety regulations, both national and organisation policy and procedures
  • To effectively manage the company's store facility with an adequate inventory and par level of all items required for day to day maintenance products.
  • Manage and communicate the monthly inventory and stock report for Head Office.
  • Conducting health & safely, environmental and catering audits and rectifying any shortfalls within a reasonable timeline.
  • Ensuring that all site electrical, fire fighting/prevention and gas equipment is regularly serviced by external engineers or self.
  • Complete monthly environmental audits of all homes and ensure 2 rooms per home are consistently maintained to showroom standards, liaising with the Marketing Manager on soft furnishings and finishing.
  • Take direction for interior decoration, design and supply from the Home Manager.
  • Implement and maintain environmentally friendly solutions for all homes (lighting, water and electrical).
  • To complete relevant performance and development reviews and performance manage your team as outlined in the company's Human Resources Manual.
  • Driving duties as required.
  • Any other duties as required for the needs of the business and the home
  • To provide on call cover on a rota basis.
Experience

  • Good knowledge of D. I. Y.
  • Awareness of Health & Safety Regulations
  • Own tools and equipment
  • Proven experience in maintenance or related field
  • Strong mechanical knowledge and ability to troubleshoot issues effectively
  • Familiarity with electrical systems and ability to perform basic electrical repairs
  • Excellent communication skills in English, both written and verbal
  • Strong customer service skills when interacting with staff, service users or external contractors
  • Ability to work independently with mínimal supervision
  • Driving licence and car owner who is prepared to travel for parts or equipment

Pay:
£12.50 per hour

Expected hours: 37.5 per week
