An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Asset Manager, to join our Estates & Facilities Directorate at the University of Wolverhampton.

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Asset Manager, to join our Estates & Facilities Directorate at the University of Wolverhampton.

The role is responsible for managing the estate property portfolio across all campuses and all associated ongoing development across these campuses, and satellite buildings across the region.


You will be accountable for the provision of clear vision, leadership, and management of a diverse workforce, whilst delivering value for money services that achieve service excellence quality in delivering the University's Estate Engineering, Maintenance and Infrastructure Services, which form an essential component of the University's Estate Strategy delivery.


You will be a key member of the Directorate's Senior Management Team and as such will need to be a strategic thinker and proactive leader assisting with the development and implementation of the overarching maintenance strategy, adopting an entrepreneurial approach, identifying opportunities for innovation, alternative and commercially viable methods of working, maximising opportunities to reduce costs and improve service delivery to the end users.


You will have a collaborative approach developing strategic relationships with both internal and external stakeholders, bringing together and maximising existing activities, alongside the development of new opportunities and projects.

You will demonstrate key attributes such as; driven by challenge, enthusiastic, ability to motivate your team and other stakeholders.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, a flexible approach to work and the ability to prioritise demanding workload and identify areas for continuous development and improvement within your areas of management and delivery.

You will be motivated by meeting targets and having challenging objectives and deadlines, pursuing excellence in all that you manage.


You must be qualified to degree level or equivalent in at least one discipline within asset management, have detailed understanding of other associated disciplines, qualified to at least NEBOSH level in Health and Safety, an excellent knowledge of asset and associated systems Statutory Compliance across residential and corporate buildings, and of the Regulatory Reform Order (Fire Safety).
