Description
Newlands is in the heart of Salford and can accommodate 30 residents needing nursing or residential care. Many of our residents follow the Jewish faith, and we maintain strong links to the Jewish community.

Role:

To keep our beautiful and friendly home running smoothly, we are looking for an experienced cook to join our team and work 7am to 5pm, Monday to Friday.

We need caring and compassionate people to help us provide the type of home environment you'd want your own relatives to have.

Ideally with catering experience in a care home or school, you will already hold a minimum Level 2 Food Hygiene Certificate.

We will train you to ensure you can provide kosher food to those that require it.

You will understand the importance of nutritious, varied and well-balanced meals, for our residents' physical and mental well-being.

Your excellent communication skills and your ability to work well within a team will ensure you compile suitable menus, along with input from other members of staff and the residents' own preferences, thereby promoting choice, dignity and respect.

You will ensure a quality food service is provided, and will be responsible for the smooth running of the kitchen, including managing the kitchen supplies, being responsible for checking and maintaining kitchen equipment, along with ensuring compliance with the rules of Health & Safety at Work in relation to the kitchen and kitchen practice.
