Description
An excellent part time opportunity has arisen for a Maintenance Officer to join our Maintenance team. The role will primarily cover six children's residential care homes in the St Helens area.


Your Role as Maintenance Officer:


This role is ideal for someone who is looking for between 2- and 3-days maintenance work per week predominately within the St Helens area.


The role offers a variety of work, and your role will be invaluable for ensuring that our children and young people continue to flourish in the safety of a warm, comforting environment.

Your role will involve carrying out general building maintenance works and home repairs.


The successful applicant will provide evidence of a strong background in joinery (or similar trades) and a good understanding of all trades including, basic plumbing, electrical and plastering/decorating skills.


You will have excellent communication and interpersonal skills in order to build strong relationships and be confident when liaising with external suppliers and contractors.


Regular maintenance projects will include; bathroom or kitchen replacements, laying new flooring, window, door and lock replacements and plastering. You will also as be required to identify, and if possible, fix basic plumbing or electrical faults.

It is essential that our properties are maintained to a high standard and that any refurbishments, damages or faults are fixed quickly and in line with health and safety standards.


Essential Skills and Experience

  • Ideally you will be time served with multitrades experience,
  • You must have demonstrable experience of carrying out building maintenance works, preferably in residential property, care homes or schools.
  • Experience of working in a reactive environment where quick problem solving and project management skills are paramount

Qualifications & Certificates

  • A full, valid, clean, UK Driving Licence
  • Possession of relevant trade qualifications
  • Fire Door installation and repair qualification
  • Relevant Health and Safety certificates

Remuneration
The starting salary is circa £30,000 per annum (full time equivalent), pro rata. The hours of work are between 16 and 24 hours depending upon your availability. Your working days can be agreed around other work commitments if necessary.

Additional Information
