We have a fantastic opportunity for a Support Worker to join our dedicated team based in Canton, Cardiff.

This opportunity is to positively impact the lives for two men living in self-contained flats.

Throughout the day there is a variety of activities that you would be supporting the individuals to do and looking at opportunities that the individual will enjoy.

What do the people we support have to say?
Gentleman 1

I am a young man living in Cardiff that enjoys playing racing games on my PlayStation, travelling, going to the gym and going out to my local Turkish restaurant.

I would like to be supported by someone who will help me manage my money to allow me to go on holidays.

I like to be unsupported for a few hours a day in order for me to do things independently.

Although, when I am being supported I like to go out and about around Cardiff and I will let you know what I would like to do that day.

Gentleman 2

I enjoy going out in my car to Porthkerry park, Barry island, Penarth etc.

I like staff to be organised and to give me a choice on where I would like to go each day.

I need good communication for me to understand what we are doing that day. I also enjoy eating out and I enjoy a drink in the pub with my meals.

I am very close to my mother and I like it when staff support me to contact her to let her know what I have been doing that day.

I also like to sit outside and socialise with people walking past and my neighbours.

What will you be doing?

As a Support Worker you will develop, implement, and review a range of individual support plans to enable the person that you will support to lead a fulfilling life.
You will provide support with a range of tasks which may include household and domestic tasks, shopping, diet/food preparation, personal care, personal hygiene, dressing and personal appearance.
As a Support worker we will support you in studying towards your QCF Level 2 Health and Social Care, which is completely funded by mirus.
You will work alongside other professionals such as care managers, community nurses and occupational therapists to deliver high quality support.

What we are looking for?

You may understand the issues associated with people with complex needs, but we will provide in depth training and coaching.
