Since 2011, the Hub has supported more than 15,000 businesses including start-ups, scale-ups and established businesses, providing finance guidance, creating international links, and paving the way for innovation and people development across the region.

We work with the best of public and private partners, offering expert one-to-one and peer-to-peer business support, events, specialist programmes, funding and much more.


The Skills Advisor will work on the Skills for Growth - SME Support programme and be focussed on working with a portfolio of business clients evaluating their experience and impact of participating in the programme.

The advisors will work closely with Skills Coaches who have delivered the programme of support to the businesses gaining an understanding of the client journey and experience.

Skills Advisors will also signpost businesses to wider programmes of support promoting wider Greater Manchester businesses support services.


This role is a Fixed Term Contract until 31/08/23

Key Responsibilities:


  • Manage the review and evaluation of business clients progress towards their agreed programme targets
  • Ensure that clients receive support from their Skills Coach and needed, and raise any issues with the appropriate parties if they arise
  • Attend review meetings with the client to obtain their feedback on the support received
  • Account Manage a portfolio of business clients and encourage them to take up additional services that are offered by the sector and the wider business support services
  • To assure the quality of clients' experience maximising the timely completion, retention, and achievement targets of all clients
  • To adhere to all quality procedures to ensure we meet our contractual obligations, meets internal and external quality and audit requirements, and provide a highquality service
  • To achieve personal targets

About You;:


  • Good communication skills including telephone and written communication
  • Excellent IT skills including good use of all key computer packages
  • Able to work to deadlines and under pressure
  • Strong verbal and written communication
  • Organisation and time management

Skills Required:


  • Customer service / account management experience
  • Commitment and enthusiasm for Work-Based Learning
  • Proven organisational skills
  • Knowledge of funded learning provision and training provision available
  • Understanding of quality requirements in relation to ESF or other equivalent funding
