Description
We are looking to appoint a Qualified Accountant as our Finance Business Partner on a fixed term contract basis for 12-16 months.
Reporting to the Group Commercial Accountant you will work as part of a small finance team and be responsible for leading on financial analysis and commentary on our project portfolio, liaising, integrating and partnering with other departments within the businessas necessary.
In addition, you will be the lead user of our project finance consolidation workbook, so this role will require very high levels of excel understanding.
This is a pivotal role which would suit someone with energy, excellent communications skills, and strong financial acumen looking to be part of a high performing team in an exciting organisation.
Key Responsibilities*- Reporting and analysis of project portfolio- Partnering with Project Managers on large complex projects
- Senior finance contact for projects with key accounts, responsibility for periodic reporting of the portfolio performance of those projects
- Preparation of the budget for the project side of the business
- Continually challenge decision makers and senior stakeholders to justify business decisions, assumptions and evaluations that are pivotal to the planning and forecasting of the business' projections
- Driving commercial and collaborative revenue stream forecasting and cost management initiatives across the entire business
- Maintenance and management of our Excel based project finance consolidation workbook, including planned updates and improvements.
- Month end project and intercompany journals, as required
- R&D Tax Credit coordination and liaison with our thirdparty agent
- Support the Group Commercial Accountant to provide day to day project finance support
- To deputise for the Group Commercial Accountant as required
Requirements:
- Qualified ACCA / CIMA / ACA
- At least 5 years post qualified experience
- Very strong Excel skills
- Project Accounting experience
- Experience of SAP Business ByDesign, Microsoft Dynamics, or extensive experience of alternative ERP systems
- Ability to learn new systems quickly
- The ability to deliver to tight timescales and deadlines consistently
- Excellent day to day planning and organisational skills
- Dynamism, aptitude for problem solving and teamwork, practicality, reliability, flexibility, and results oriented
- Excellent communication skills and interpersonal relations at all levels
- The ability to engage and influence colleagues to achieve common goals and objectives.
