Full Time experienced Groom required for private show jumping yard located in Gerrard's Cross, Buckinghamshire.

The ideal applicant will be reliable, enthusiastic with professional, fully referenced groom experience.

PAYE - 28 days annual leave-pension scheme-statutory sick pay.

A wonderful working environment in a beautiful part of the country with great links to central London.

The yard has excellent facilities and the 15 horses are very well mannered. There are a lot of National and International shows planned so this is a very exciting opportunity.


The Groom:

  • Reliable, enthusiastic with a good work ethic
- good team players

  • A genuine love of working with horses in all weathers
  • An interest in competition horses particularly showjumping
  • The ability to handle horses on the ground confidently and correctly
  • Riding not necessary
  • Good turn out skills would be an advantage ( clipping, plaiting, trimming etc)
  • Must be able to carry out all yard duties to a high standard
  • Can spot injuries and illness and inform the relevant people
  • Prepare horses for travelbandaging etc
  • Keep the yard clean and tidy at all times

The Position:

  • All Yard work to high standard
  • First class management of competition horses
  • The opportunity to travel to events home and possibly abroad
  • Excellent turn out skills Further training can be given

  • Sole charge at times

  • Gerrards Cross, Buckinghamshire: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (required)

Experience:

- groom/stable: 5 years (required)

- handling horses on the ground: 5 years (required)
- turning horses out for competition, plaiting etc: 3 years (required)
- grooming at events: 3 years (required)


Language:

- english (required)


Licence/Certification:

  • Driving Licence (required)
