Accountancy Recruit is partnering a client in Altrincham to recruit a Finance Assistant. This is an excellent role with progression in a subsidiary of a large group.

The role would suit an Accounts Assistant, Purchase Ledger Clerk, Sales Ledger Clerk or Finance Assistant keen to support in the day to day running of the finance function of a £10M turnover business reporting into a larger group.

The business is set to double in size over the next 12 months.

The Finance Assistant will have the following responsibilities:

  • Take ownership of purchase ledger and sales ledger, dealing with high value, low volume invoices.
  • Deal with any queries from suppliers and customers relating to invoices and payments.
  • Credit control to ensure prompt payment from customers and keep aged debt to a minimum.
  • Work with the Commercial Accountant to ensure all transactions are properly record for month end.
  • Identify areas for improvement with regards to processes and systems.
To be successful in this role the Finance Assistant will have the following experience:

  • Previous experience in a similar role.
  • Excellent attention to detail and understanding of accounting.
  • Strong systems experience.
  • Good communication skills and a professional demeanour dealing with suppliers and customers.
  • Ability to identify process and system improvements to help develop an efficient finance function.
  • Ability to develop into a leadership role and take on more responsibility as the business continues to grow.
The salary advertised for this role is a guideline and the salary offered will be commensurate with experience.
