_Recra is working in partnership_ with a leading management specialist who is looking to add a Workshop Controller to their team in Peterborough. As a Workshop Controller, you'll play a part in keeping some of the UK's biggest brands on the road, you will be responsible for building and maintaining customer and employee relations to ensure that the workshop achieves its financial, productivity, service, compliance, and quality performance standards.


Roles/Responsibilities:


  • Ensure that the workshop operates in line with their safe systems of work, and all legislative and H&S processes are followed.
  • Assist with the management of all KPIs including management of direct and indirect costs, productivity & compliance.
  • Support the continuous improvement of processes and operating practices within the department.
  • Plan and manage resources inline with set budgets.
  • Build rapport, and develop trust and respect from both internal and external customers.
  • Provide daily/weekly operational reports and status updates as required.
  • Management and control of all parts use within the workshop.
  • Support the delivery of plans to plans to drive improved engagement with your team.
  • Ensure that the Customer's Operator Licence obligations are met.
  • To undertake such duties as may be reasonably required for the effective operation of the function.

Skills/Experience:


  • Experience in workshop management and operational procedures and standards.
  • Experience working with or for major commercial vehicle manufacturers.
  • Experience in people management.
  • Understanding of Workshop Operations and VOSA's "Guide to Maintaining Roadworthiness."
  • Experience in managing and improving Key Performance Indicators.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Balances the daytoday thinking and can assess the commercial implications.
  • Demonstrates commercial awareness.
  • IT literate.
  • Full UK Driving license with the ability to travel to other sites within the UK as needed.
