Description
To carry out carer recruitment activity across defined region/s. To respond to all incoming enquiries from prospective foster carers.

To support the Marketing Manager to deliver marketing activity within the designated region/s to include developing and delivering carer recruitment campaigns, supporting foster carer engagement plans and providing marketing support and collateral for wider business purposes.


Have a clear understanding of the foster carer journey and to be able to engage with foster carers and staff in the region to ensure set targets are achieved.

Provide quality advice and guidance to support prospective foster carers on their journey to becoming approved foster carers and conduct home visits.

Contribute to the continuous improvement of the fostering family recruitment service.


Core Responsibilities:


  • Work with the Marketing Manager and wider team to ensure the right foster carers are recruited in the right areas, meeting the agency recruitment target.
  • Provide marketing support to the marketing manager including booking advertising, producing some copy, supporting social media campaigns and strategy. Implement targeted media campaigns, working effectively with the appointed media agency.
  • Provide a positive, professional and customer focused response to initial enquiries received from prospective carers and produce high quality factual initial enquiry forms in collaboration with the social work team as necessary.
  • Organise and undertake home visits to prospective carers. Effective use of questioning and listening skills to identify quality prospects at home visits. Produce high quality home visit reports.
  • Work closely with regional staff and carer groups to promote and support the development of the friend2foster Ambassador Scheme.
  • Work closely with Marketing Manager to develop and deliver weekly, monthly and annual recruitment events and activity planners.
  • Actively promote the benefits of working as a foster carer with EFS.
  • Support regional carer retention, communication and engagement plans.
  • Capturing contact information and factual details into the system.
  • Attend Team and Agency Meetings/events as required.
  • A fundamental aspect of this role requires flexible working arrangements in line with business and customer need. Early morning, evenings and weekends could form part of working patterns at times in line with customer demand.
  • Build rapport and deliver excellent customer service at all times.
  • Demonstrate empathy and diplomacy when handling personal information.
  • Ensure a good working knowledge of and adhere to regional carer recruitment needs.
  • Portray a professional, positive and helpful image of the organisation and deliver excellent customer service.
  • Ensure compliance with safeguarding procedures prioritising the safety and welfare of children and young people at all times.
  • Use influencing skills to convert quality prospects.
  • Liaise with colleagues within EFS to effectively signpost and present obtained competitor/market intelligence/recruitment or other opportunities

Additional Duties

  • The post holder will be expected to undertake training and development deemed necessary for the pursuance of the post
  • The post holder will be expected to have a sound knowledge of MS Office
  • The post holder will be expected to ensure to comply with Equal Opportunities Policy and Procedure in all employment practices
  • Ensuring compliance with safeguarding procedures, throughout all work within the Company, keeping the Registered Manager/equivalent informed of work in progress and inform the Registered Manager/equivalent immediately of any child protection matter or serious complaint.
  • Comply with all EFS policies and procedures.
  • Adhere to the principles of the Data Protection Act.
  • Undertake other duties as may be requested of the post holder that is commensurate with their level of responsibility and skills.
