An opportunity has arisen for enthusiastic individuals to join a developing and motivated team of pharmacy staff serving Mersey and West Lancashire Teaching Hospital NHS Trust.
This post will be key to our planned developments and will be based at Southport & District Hospital within a modernised dispensary setting, although ability to work on both sites is essential and will involve dispensing for in-patient and discharge.
Duties will include working within the Pharmacy Department & at ward level, general stock control, ordering, supply & dispensing of medicines.
The post holder will participate with other team members of the pharmacy staff aiming to provide an efficient and comprehensive pharmaceutical service within the pharmacy departments of Mersey and West Lancashire Teaching Hospital NHS Trust, under the direction of the Chief Pharmacist.
The Secretary of State has approved the partnership between St Helens & Knowsley Teaching Hospitals and Southport & Ormskirk Hospitals.
From 1 st July we have come together as a single organisation under the name Mersey & West Lancashire Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust.
The Trust delivers acute hospital care, intermediate care, community, and primary care services to a population of over 600,000 people with a combined workforce of around 9000 dedicated and skilled staff from 17 locations including Whiston, Southport & Formby, St Helens, Ormskirk and Newton hospitals.
The Trust provides regional services for burns, plastic surgery and spinal injuries to more than 4 million people across Mersey and West Lancashire, Cheshire, the Isle of Man and North Wales.
