Job Summary


The primary accountability of this role is to successfully implement and deliver on all key performance and quality targets on the Disabled Students Allowance contract.

The role will also be the key point of contact for managing the day-to-day relationshipwith the Commissioner - Student Loans Company, with a view to creating new business growth opportunities.

The role includes high quality leadership of the delivery team for the contract, including Maximus' own direct delivery element, all aspects of the supply chain - including both assessment centre and assistive technology service providers - and ensuring thatall contractual quality and compliance measure are at least in line with contractual requirements.

This role will be recruited in anticipation of Contract Reward.


Essential Job Duties

  • Ensure that contract performance and financial targets are consistently achieved and, where they fall short, take appropriate remedial action to drive improvement.
  • Undertake the forecasting and financial planning of all resource requirements for service delivery.
  • Operating as a leader, and member of the Senior Leadership Team by contributing to the development of strategy and being a supportive team member in the business. Lead and develop a team of remote direct reports, providing coaching and support to help themto succeed in their roles and ensuring that this ethos is replicated across the wider team, leading by example in terms of business values and behaviour.
  • Contribute to the development of a colleague engagement strategy to ensure all delivery operations are engaged, motivated, valuesdriven and ambitious to succeed within a highperformance environment based on creating a sustainable culture.
  • Ensure appropriate governance is in place within the Contract team to comply with Quality, HR, health & safety, risk management and other legal requirements upon the business.
  • Support the business growth objective by working with the business development team, acting as the key operational link when directed, for bidding and winning new contracts. Where appropriate, lead the mobilisation and demobilisation of new business, ensuringprojects are properly planned and resourced, that TUPE obligations are met and that the clients and employees receive a positive experience.

Education and Experience Requirements

  • Extensive experience (3+ years) of working at a senior operational level delivering largescale, highprofile services in the public arena
  • Subject matter expertise must have significant proven indepth knowledge of functional assessments and pandisability assessments
  • Proven leader and motivator of people operating both physically in teams and remotely
  • Strong understanding of remote service and people management practices
  • Track record of successful commissioner relationship management leading to growth and expended service delivery
  • Demonstrable commercial and financial acumen
  • Able to work flexibly and, travel extensively and effectively around geographical area of responsibility
