About the Post:


We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic individual who is committed to preventing homelessness to join our Housing Options Team.

The role will involve providing a comprehensive, customer focussed housing options service to enable the council to prevent homelessness and meet its statutory duties.


You will work in as part of a busy team, managing a varied caseload and working across partners to find innovate ways to prevent homelessness.

A key part of the role is assessing customers in line with the relevant legislation and supporting people to resolve their housing issues.

You will be required to work with a range of customers both face to face and over the phone, providing appropriate advice and assistance, in addition to undertaking enquires with landlords, families and other professionals.

There will be a strong focus on preventing homelessness, partnership working and delivering a high-quality customer service.


You will require strong communication skills both verbally and in writing and have working knowledge of Homelessness and other relevant legislation.

You will be an excellent team player with the ability to work under pressure and to tight deadlines. Experience of casework and advocacy is essential. A level 4 qualification or relevant experience is essential for the post.
