Broster Buchanan are delighted to be supporting a high profile client with a key hire for their Grimsby site.

Following a recent re-structure, the business is seeking an experienced Financial Controller who has passion for process improvement and controls.

You will play a key part of the senior management team and be supported by an experienced Finance Director and wider group finance function.

The Financial Controller will take the lead on all internal external financial reporting, management accounting and ensure corporate governance requirements are delivered in an accurate and timely manner, including statutory and tax compliance and managingthe HMRC, audit and banking relationships.


KEY DUTIES

  • Provide guidance to the business to ensure adherence to all prevailing Financial Reporting standards and the accepted principles of Corporate Governance.
  • Provide transparent, appropriate and timely Financial and Management Information to the Business, highlighting risks and opportunities through rigorous financial analysis to facilitate interventions to correct/improve business performance.
  • Ensure that effective financial systems and controls are in place including best practise internal control procedures, management reporting, and capital expenditure approval and reporting, aligned with Group timetables
  • Provide leadership to a medium sized finance team ensuring that individuals are coached and developed to deliver the finance agenda.
  • Management of Business Cashflow, liaising with the Finance Director and banks as appropriate.
  • Production of Statutory Accounts and related submissions.
  • First point of contact for Auditors, Banks, Insurers and other relevant External Agencies.
  • Monitor Working Capital and prompt necessary actions.
  • Work in partnership with the Finance Director to drive improved business performance and achieve optimum levels of profit and cash generation.
  • Development of HSF finance policies and procedures consistent with Group standards and value.
  • Participation in systems developments, ensuring financial requirements are fully reflected.

Suitable applicants will hold a ACA/ACCA/CIMA qualification and have experience of working in a large company environment and adhering to group policies.

Salary range £70,000-£85,000
