Description

The main duties of the Shipping Specialist will include:

Invoice generation and administration
Ensure all deliveries are made in line with customer and company requirements
Liaise with freight agents and confirm shipping details.
Liaise with relevant departments to coordinate packing and shipments.
Act as contact for customer and internal queries relating to shipping or status enquiries.
Assist in key project work to improve work practices/streamline processes and cost reductions.
Completing shipping certificates / documentation and detailed shipment records.
Revenue recognition updates on invoiced sales orders.
Signing off freight / packing invoices querying any incorrect invoices.
Controlling all imports into the UK by providing customs clearance instructions to the necessary clearance agent within a small time frame to minimise storage costs.
Arranging the despatch, paperwork and collection of all UK hire/demos and exhibitions.

To be successful you should have previous Knowledge of shipping procedures (export and import) for all methods of transport to worldwide destinations.

You should also have the following skills and experience:

Good working knowledge of legislation.
Knowledge of HTS codes, Incoterms.
Good ability in using Microsoft Office with good knowledge of Excel.
Attention to detail
Ability to manage own workload and drive results
Open to change and driving process improvements
Good communication skills
Experience of working within a Capital Equipment Manufacturing organisation
