    Learning Disability Nurse or Paediatric Nurse (Children's Community Learning Disability Team)


    Summary

    We are seeking an experienced nurse to join our Central and West Lancashire Children's Community Learning Disability Team. The successful candidate will have a passion for working with children with learning disabilities, excellent communication skills, and the ability to supervise and manage staff.


    Main Duties of the Job

    • Work as part of a multi-disciplinary team to address the health, psychological, emotional, and behavioural needs of children and young people with a learning disability and/or Autism.
    • Be responsible for a caseload and supervise that of other practitioners within the service.
    • Take a senior role in undertaking and supporting assessments for the school-aged Autism Spectrum Disorder Pathway.

    Job Description and Responsibilities

    The post holder will work closely with colleagues to ensure the best possible outcomes for children and young people with learning disabilities. They will be responsible for assessing and developing individualised plans to meet the needs of children and young people with complex needs.


    Person Specification

    • Essential Qualifications:
      • Part 5 or 14 of NMC register
    • Desirable Qualifications:
      • Preparation of Mentor training/NST 307 / ENB 998 Relevant post registration Qualification
    • Knowledge:
      • Ability to support people who have a learning disability/complex needs on an individual and group basis.
      • Knowledge of Autism Spectrum Disorder and how to undertake assessment and support children and young people with ASD.
    • Experience:
      • Experience of working in community setting.
