Our FTSE 250 client is looking to appoint a new Learning & Development Specialist to work closely with the Learning Business Partners and wider L&D team, keeping the Learning Management System updated and supporting the business with the design, delivery& evaluation of employee training across their systems, business processes & products and soft skills for key business divisions.


The Learning & Development Specialist will be comfortable designing and delivering varied systems and business process & soft skills training to end users by means of a blended learning approach (face to face and online delivery) but with a keen focus andinterest in the latest digital and e-learning techniques.


The position offers permanent employment on either a 4 day or 5 day basis, with career progression opportunities in a market leading and highly successful FTSE financial services group.


The opportunity does not require previous financial services experience but what is key is a creative open mind, a genuine passion for learning and a confident positive can-do attitude.

Couple this with some solid previous relevant L&D experience in a corporateenvironment and a hunger to further develop your L&D delivery skills and this could be a defining opportunity for someone.


The new L&D specialist will be able to work in a flexible hybrid structure (2-3 days in office, 2-3 days from home) but with the client's Wimbledon offices as their designated place of work.

The role will require some UK travel to other business unit's premiseswith occasional overnight stays required (but planned well in advance).


Key responsibilities include:


  • Provide first line support and advice for L&D related queries. Ensuring advice is provided is commercial, timely and meets specific business needs.
  • Maintain the Learning Management System, ensuring learning records are up to date and relevant reports are run and produced to support business needs
  • Design, deliver, and evaluate product, process/systems and soft skills learning solutions to employees
  • Produce and maintain new training materials for inhouse courses, keeping these updated and version controlled
  • Collaborate with the Learning Business Partners to proactively measure the continued effectiveness of learning activities, reviewing the quality of learning solutions and the assessment of the ROI for the business
  • Work alongside the wider L&D team,Business Quality & Project teams to transform procedures & user guides into learning materials and training events
  • Provide specialist advice to support across business functions to address learning needs and to assist in building levels of capability
  • Support and deliver the business Induction and onboarding programme to ensure its effectiveness, timeliness, and relevance to new employees
  • Monitor and review the progress of trainees through evaluation questionnaires and discussions with managers
  • Ensure that statutory training requirements across the division are met in a timely fashion
  • Ensure that learning needs for the division are identified and tracked/monitored accordingly
  • Support the Learning and Development Business Partner with the coordination of talent programmes
  • Collaborate with the wider Learning and Development team on learning initiatives where required

Skills and Experience Required to be Considered:

  • Experience of managing & maintaining a Learning Management System
  • Experience of systems/technical training design & delivery
  • Experience of soft skills training design & delivery
  • Experience of partnering senior stakeholders across the business with a confident and credible approach.
  • Strong communication and facilitation skills (face to face and virtual)
  • Ability to work well under pressure with a varied workload to meet deadlines.
  • Ability to deal quickly and calmly with a range of complex demands
  • Able to demonstrate an understanding of the full training cycle: needs analysis, design, delivery and evaluation within a commercial organisation
  • Experience of course development and learning intervention design, including blended learning.
  • Forward thinking with a genuine interest in the latest learning and development practices
  • Experience of engaging and managing external suppliers
  • Experience of managing and maintaining a Learning Management System
