Recruiting for a support worker for a young person

We are recruiting for the position of a female support worker who wants to make a difference to young person's life who has complex health care needs cerebral palsy - has limited communication skills, needs full transfers

as the child requires personal care is involved a female is essential
- as per parent instructions

You will work as part of a team of staff who are supportive and caring.

you will work weekends and weekdays after school from 4pm to 9pm

also over night 10-pm to 8am

It is a rewarding job and one that provides many opportunities to work alongside highly skilled therapist in the field of occupational therapy, visual impairment

The position is working in the persons home supporting them with personal care, promtping and guiding, and implementing the therapy plan,

You will take the child out in her mobility car and in her wheelchair to access community facilities

you must be a car driver and we pay for mileage

5.6 weeks annual leave pro rata

Ideally have your own transport which you will receive a mileage allowance

  • Responsibilities:


The role is to support a young person female in the family own home ; with the aim to support the YP to be as independent as possible.

You will support with all aspects feeding the yp, changing pads, washing dressing skin management - epilepsy ,management, medication admin, recording accurately

Your role is to follow care plans to support the client to improve their physical, cognitive and emotional wellbeing with the aim of reducing social isolation and integration

Deliver personal care ) to the client promoting dignity and respect throughout

Support the client to attend appointments, leisure sessions

Work in alignment with a support team to provide the highest quality of care experience


Requirements:

Essential to have previous experience in supporting children and young people who have physical and cognitive

Essential to have a qualification in level 2 and above in health and social care

Ideally You must have a valid UK Driving Licence, but this is not essential

Applicants must have the right to live and work in the UK


Job Types: 20 hours with opportunity to work extra shifts
- working weekends and week days after school and in school holidays

Hours - are flexible but we need someone on a Monday to Friday from 4-10pm and weekends to take out to the community

plus in school holidays the hours will increase to support in the day and evening

£14.00-£15.50 per hour
