WHAT TO EXPECT
An exciting opportunity has arisen to join our Programme Planning and Releasing team as a Bill Of Materials Supervisor.
In this role you will be responsible for the day to day supervision and leadership of a team of analysts, leading them to provide accurate bill of material checking and maintenance for a number of JLR products.
As a a Bill Of Materials Supervisor you will oversee day to day activities to ensure KPI's are being met and all bill of material queries raised are being investigated and responded to in a timely manner.
You will also be involved in mid-long term planning, liaising with other teams (eg Product Information, Engineering etc) and customers (eg manufacturing plants, logistics providers and production suppliers) to identify repeat error states and develop improved processes to prevent recurrence.
In this role you will also have the opportunity to work on new product and system launches, supporting new process development actions as necessary.
Key Accountabilities and Responsibilities
You will ensure all BOM and specification queries are investigated and responded to in a timely manner, implementing containment actions as necessary to protect product quality and on time customer vehicle production.
Further responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Set up and maintaining sequence supplier part number data to ensure correct part(s) delivery
- Leading new process development and definition to support new products, processes and IT systems
- Liaising with stakeholders and suppliers to improve overall end to end process performance
- Work load planning, objective setting, performance reviews and skills development exercises with your team
WHAT YOU'LL NEED
Essential:
- Awareness of parts supply processes (bulk, sequenced etc) to support high volume manufacturing
- Logical and structured approach to problem investigation and resolution
- Strong IT skills, able to interrogate systems as part of a problem investigation process
- Capable of working to process milestones and deadlines, able to prioritise own and other's workload effectively
