Job description

  • Be the part of the operating team working on the CNC on a daily basis ensuring that material is cut up and ready for fabricators in a timely manner.
  • In charge of maintaining all aspects of the CNC tooling and extraction.
  • Ensuring we have the required stock of tooling to keep the CNC running.
  • Carrying out quality control of material coming off CNC.
  • Labelling and storing offcuts of material efficiently and keeping a log of offcut stock.
  • Taking the initiative to improve the efficiency of using the CNC as much as possible to make the process quicker, create the least amount of waste as possible, and make the most out of the left over material.
  • Follow procedures and instructions on paperwork to ensure material coming off the CNC is manufactured according to fabrication guidelines.
  • Effectively communicate with the rest of the factory, installation and office team to ensure everyone is kept up to date with progress, potential issues or special requirements for certain projects.
  • Ensure that you, and people that you are working with, adhere to health and safety policies, procedures and precautions identified by risk assessments.
  • Agree on, work towards, monitor progress towards and meet or exceed targets set to you by management. Highlight any areas where targets may not be met and bring them up with management.

Person Specification

  • Essential:
  • Able to speak, read and write English.
  • Confident in using computers.
  • Physically able to lift and manually handle sheet material.
  • Demonstrate good verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work as part of a team and to proactively support other team members.
  • High attention to detail to ensure quality standards are achieved whilst also being efficient to deliver work on time.
  • Demonstrate excellent housekeeping discipline to keep working areas clean, tidy, organised and efficient.
  • Aware of health and safety requirements and able to maintain a safe working environment.
  • Desirable:
  • CNC programming and operation.
  • Experience using CAD software.

Job Types:

Salary:
Up to £24,000.00 per year
