Based at newly furbished CAMHS links unit, near Aberdeen beach, this post offers the opportunity to work with experienced multidisciplinary CAMHS team members who offer a wide range of evidence based treatments for children and young people aged 0-18 years with severe and complex Mental Health needs.


The settings for the work tasks may be local outpatient clinic based or a combination of community based consultative multi agency interface or inpatient liaison with the CAMHS inpatient regional facilities in Dundee and Glasgow.


In addition, the service has been through a transformational change that is enabling improvements in quality of tier 3 and tier 4 care and participation of stakeholders.

Also service is providing a more collaborative and consultative support to tier 2 services.

Individual team members are encouraged to develop areas of special interest.

The appointee will be expected to contribute to clinical governance and to the overall management of the clinical service by representation of medical perspectives at different local and national fora.


There is a full range of hosted MH and LD specialist services on site including Adult Mental Health, Old Age Psychiatry, Forensic Psychiatry, Liaison Psychiatry and Substance Misuse.

The service has fully accredited schemes for foundation, core and specialty training in Psychiatry including higher training in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry.

The appointee will be expected to register with the Continuing Professional Development Programme of the Royal College of Psychiatrists.

There are excellent opportunities for research and close links exist between the Service and the University Department of Mental Health, including a senior lecturer in child and adolescent psychiatry.


Those trained in the UK should have evidence of higher specialist training leading to CCT or be within 6 months of confirmed entry on the GMC Specialist Register from date of interview.

Alternatively, applicants should possess a CESR / CESR (CP).
