We are recruiting for a Health & Safety Environment Executive to join the team and provide assistance with identification, monitoring and improvement of Health, Safety and Environment issues across Virgin Atlantic and Virgin Atlantic Holidays to ensure the safety and wellbeing of employees, customers, suppliers, third party contractors and visitors to all locations both in the UK and overseas.
Some of your key responsibilities as our Health & Safety Environment Executive will be:
Audit
- Ensure HSE selfassessment audits are conducted when necessary for VAA & VAH locations, including hotels, facilities, excursions, adventure activities and transport. Monitor responses and input into the PASS database. Manage HSE trackers with status of assessments
- Correspond with external suppliers for completion of selfassessments, chasing and monitoring responses and updating PASS
- Manage PASS reporting audit cycle ahead of assessment expiry, liaising with internal stakeholders and escalate when external suppliers have not completed assessments, negotiating deadline for rectification in line with the SLA
- Manage new Product requests and update internal stakeholder databases
- Assist HSE Manager with collation of information for Audit plan
- Review systems and P&P's to drive efficiencies and continuous improvement in line with P&P matrix
- Support and assist with tasks in the Compliance plan
- Admin assistance and document control
- Intermediate level Health & Safety qualification from accredited body e.g. CIEH, IOSH
- Intermediate level Food Hygiene qualification from accredited governing body e.g. CIEH
- Gas safety awareness for travel industry (CORGI level or equivalent)
- Understanding of key safety and environment issues
- Principles of fire safety training
- Understanding of Legionella risks
- Experience of working in an airline environment and/or a tour operator (preferred)
- Experience in data collection and analysis
- Investigate all Virgin Atlantic Airways HSE related incidents, accidents, illnesses, or nearmisses to ensure issues are addressed to prevent reoccurrence and provide due diligence defense.
- Correspond with internal and external departments for any incidents involving employees or customers
- Monitor CSQ illness scores, identify trends and implement remedial actions and communicate to the HSE Team
- Creation of monthly dashboards for internal stakeholders, reviewing trends
- Review monthly incident reports for accuracy and feedback to stakeholders any issues found
- Support Legal team, Customer Care and Duty Office in defending claims to help reduce compensation claims
