Our vision is to create a safe and sustainable world.
Ricardo plc is a global strategic, environmental, and engineering consulting company.

With over 100 years of engineering excellence and employing close to 3,000 employees in more than 20 countries, we provide exceptional levels of expertise in delivering leading-edge and innovative cross-sector sustainable products and solutions.

Every day, we enable our customers to solve the most complex and dynamic challenges to help achieve a safe and sustainable world.

The role

Our Strategic Waste Operations Team has an excellent opportunity for someone interested in Waste Composition Analysis (WCA), which is the manual sorting, categorising, and weighing of the different materials found in a waste stream.

This is a customer facing role based in the field.

We are looking for a fieldwork supervisor to complement and expand our dynamic team, supporting the growth of our strategic advisory portfolio and to help in delivering our waste composition analysis projects here in the UK and internationally.

You will be working with highly experienced colleagues who will support your growth and development in Waste Composition.

Our clients are typically local authorities and government departments. We help our clients to understand the waste streams that they need to manage.

If you do not know what is in your waste you can not manage it cost effectively and in line with social and environmental constraints and targets.

Using Waste Composition as a measurement tool we are able to tell our clients exactly what they are dealing with.

The tables and charts that are generated from the data we collect in the field show our clients the weights and composition of material in each of their waste streams, capture and diversion rates, contamination levels, opportunities for waste reduction and reuse as well as carbon footprint and biodegradables.

Collectively, this comprehensive data provides an unparalleled insight into our wasteful practices.
