What you'll do

The Data domain is essential to the success of Vodafone UK, this team is accountable for the architecture and design of our Big Data platforms, Data warehousing and Reporting practice.

The Domain is currently undergoing a number major strategic initiatives to transform and simplify the Data Domain infrastructure

You will be providing expert guidance and delivery of Big Data and Machine learning capabilities through multiple cross functional agile squads of Data Engineers, Data Scientists, Data Ops and Architecture teams
You will regularly assess the technology impact of demands on Vodafone UK's Big Data Platform, agreeing prioritisation of the demand; and communicating the technology roadmap with the relevant product owners and senior stakeholders; and managing the Application Development and Application Maintenance of the Big Data Platform hosted on AWS.
You will personally shape and drive constant improvement to the Big Data platform to ensure data quality, efficient operations and optimisation of Cloud computing costs (AWS)
You will be setting the technology strategy for the Big Data Platform / Machine Learning / AI in Vodafone UK within the context of the Vodafone Group of companies in order to maximise economies of scale within the Vodafone Group

Who you are

You will be a proven leader who can inspire and motivate a cross functional team of Data Engineers, QA Engineers, Data Scientists, Product Owners Data Ops & Dev Ops, Scrum Masters and senior stakeholders
You will ideally have experience of matrix managing a cross functional team with team members located both in the UK and offshore locations
You will showcase experience in Big Data, Machine Learning and AWS infrastructure and architecture expertise, preferably in a Telco environment.
You will have knowledge and implementation experience of Big Data and datarelated Cloud services (AWS or GCP)
You will have knowledge of operating in a Scaled Agile and matrix management environment
You will ideally have experience in programming (Python or Scala) and analysis of data, including integration of largescale data sets, design and implementation of data processing pipelines and machine learning capabilities
