Role and Responsibilities
Our Business Aviation Training Division is undergoing an exciting period of growth and we are now looking for a Local Head of Training to join the team.
Total salary package:
Up to £150k (dependent on experience) plus 12% management bonus and competitive benefits
The role we are offering you:
- Responsibility for the delivery of all training in accordance with the relevant regulations
- Management across all local Training Centre programmes
- Management of the resources (approx. 100 Instructors) and fixed assets of all programmes in order to maximize throughput and deliver a quality product
- Identify and implement opportunities to improve service and enhance programmes
- Manage the capacity of the assigned programmes in order to achieve maximum throughput and revenue attainment
- Feedback of all training courseware, curriculums and training syllabi to differing CAE departments ensuring content is up to date and of high quality
- Liaison with the Local Quality team concerning the Quality Plan
- Attendance at the Burgess Hill weekly and monthly management meetings
- Approval of department expenditure
- Maintain and improve appropriate operational data for areas such as instructor/client engagement (NPS Office Vibe) and productivity/revenue etc.
- Be the point of escalation for all pilot training delivery needs
- Coaching and mentoring of team to ensure growth, resilience and succession management
- Manage/resolve major conflict (client or staff) by providing solutions to reported training discrepancies, scheduling problems, policy and procedures problems, or customer relations problems
- Manage staffing and compensation goals
- Establish and maintain the trust and support of colleagues, the members of the department and executive management
- Performance management of direct reports and involvement in recruiting staff across the department
- Maintain a high level of interaction with clients and potential clients as requested by the Sales and Marketing departments
- Support regional sales and marketing activities when applicable
- Responsible for short and long term liaison with Sales to ensure that resources are matched as closely as possible to client demand
- Held a professional Pilot Licence
- Previous experience as an Instructor
- Previous management experience in an aviation related business acceptable to the Regulatory Authorities with the ability to motivate and engage a diverse team
- Previous Business Aviation experience desirable
- Working knowledge of UK, EASA and preferably FAA Regulations
- Excellent interpersonal skills with above average communication skills, both verbal and written
- Ability to adapt and innovate where necessary
- A strong focus on quality with a continuous drive towards process improvement and customer satisfaction
- Ability to work in a fastpaced environment
- Able to readily accept change and adjust accordingly
- Ability to maintain strong customer orientation under adverse circumstances

You'll have a strong working knowledge of UK, EASA and ideally FAA regulations along with a key focus on quality and process improvements.

Onsite at Burgess Hill Training Centre, Innovation Drive
Hours:
Monday to Friday with the ability to work flexible hours including public holidays and weekends when necessary
Some domestic and overseas travel may be required (approx 10%)
